Benefits of using JustHost
If you’re looking to buy hosting form your website, then you’ll want to find a hosting company that’s able to provide a lot of different features and benefits that you’ll be able to use on your website. This will ensure that you’re getting to most out of your hosting provider and giving your site the best chance to grow.
We reviewed JustHost hosting, and we compiled a list of features and benefits that you’ll experience while you’re using JustHost to help host your website. Here’s what we were able to find.
Great Server Uptimes
One of the first things that we look for when we are reviewing a hosting company is the uptimes that their hosting servers can provide. Without a strong uptime record, your audience will have trouble accessing your website, which will quickly become annoying.
There are many reasons that a hosting company doesn’t have a strong uptime record, such as servers crashing or older servers, which require more and more maintenance. All of these can begin to add up over time and give your website a poor uptime record.
When we checked the uptime that JustHost could provide, we were happy with what we found. JustHost has an uptime record of over 99% for the last two years. This is a pretty strong indicator that they’ll be a reliable web host for your website, and you won’t need to worry about too much downtime.
Fairly Good Load Times
Another area that we check when we review a hosting company is the load time and server speed that a hosting company can offer. The speed of your website has become a critical feature that your website must have to succeed.
If your website isn’t fast, you’ll find that your audience members will click off your site without reading what you have to say and search engines will make it harder for your website to rank if it isn’t fast.
When your web host is slow, then there’s only so much that you’ll be able to do to speed up your website, so you must create a good foundation by choosing a fast web host.
We have reviewed the speed of over 30 different hosting companies, and we found that the average load time within the hosting industry was 700 ms. When we tested JustHost, we discovered that they were just slightly slower than the industry average by recording a 711ms load time.
While this time is slightly below average, it’s still fast enough for smaller websites that don’t get large traffic spikes.
A ton of extra add-ons
One of the things that we love about JustHost is the fact that they offer a lot of additional add ons with each of there hosting plans. These features could become costly if your hosting provider were charging for them, but JustHost is providing them at no extra costs.
Some of the free add ons that they provide will include:
- Free Domain Name
- Free SSL Certificate
- Email Addresses
- Marketing Tools
- Free Website Builder
- $100 Google Ads Credit
- Over 1000 website themes
It’s nice when a hosting provider can add extra features for free because it makes a difference, especially for smaller businesses that are starting out and need to cut expenses where they can.
Weekly Site Backups
One of the things that you don’t want to do is make mistakes while you’re building your website. Mistakes, however, are inevitable, and it’s up to you to put preventative measures in place so that you can make a fast recovery from any mishaps.
A step that you can take to help prevent any mistakes from happening is setting up website backups so that you can restore your website if it does crash. When you use JustHost, you’ll never need to worry about backing up your site because they will automatically back up your website so that your website is safe and secure.
If your website crashes, then you can use the 1-click restore option to get your site restored to a previously saved version.
Easy-to-Use Website Builder
If you don’t know how to code a website and you don’t feel like paying a hefty bill to get a website built for you, then you may want to use a website builder to create a website for yourself.
A website builder is a drop-and-drag website building platform that will allow you to create a website within a few hours by customizing themes to fit your needs. All you need to do is choose a theme and then begin customization until you’re happy with the final product.
You’ll also be able to use eCommerce features when you use the JustHost website builder, which will allow you to create and open an online store for your business.
When you use JustHost to host your website, then you’ll have access to over 1000 different themes that you can use to build your website. JustHost also offers a lot of apps that you can use to add extra functionality to your website, which is nice.
Scalable Hosting Plans
If you’re trying to grow your website, then you’ll want to make sure that you use a hosting provider who can provide scalable hosting plans. You don’t want to get locked into a long term hosting plan that’s too small for your website’s needs.
When your hosting provider can offer scalable hosting plans, then you’ll be able to upsize or downsize your hosting plan at any time. This makes it easier for you because you’ll only spend money on hosting when your website starts to grow and requires more data.
JustHost will allow you to quickly scale your hosting plan to meet the growing needs of your website, which is a nice feature to have from any web host.
Improved Customer Support
Another area that we look at when we’re reviewing a hosting provider is the customer service and support staff that a web host can provide. If a hosting company has poor customer service, then it can cause a lot of issues down the road.
While we were reviewing JustHost, we had read a few reports about slow customer support and that it took over 10 minutes to get a support rep online. We tested their customer support systems and found that those reports to be false because within 30 seconds, we had access to the support team.
From our experience, we found that the JustHost support team was quick to connect, friendly and helpful with any issues that we may have been experiencing. They also seemed to know what they were talking about and knew their products and services very well.
Overall, we were happy with our experience, and while there may be poor reviews about the JustHost customer support, we believe that they have resolved the issues and improved their support staff.
30-Day Refund Policy
When you’re choosing a hosting provider, you’ll want to make sure that the hosting provider of your choice can offer a good refund policy. You don’t want to get locked into a contract with a company that you don’t want to work with on a long term basis.
A good refund policy like this will give you more than enough time to get a small website set up and trial the hosting services before you commit to the hosting provider for a long term contract.
This could save you a lot of headaches in the long run and allow you to find a hosting company that’s the right fit for you and your website.
Disadvantages of JustHost Hosting
If you’re looking for a perfect hosting company, then you’ll spend a lot of time searching to find out that the perfect hosting provider doesn’t exist. Every hosting provider will have some flaws, and it’s up to you to decide which hosting company is the best for you and your needs.
We took a hard look at JustHost in hopes of finding their flaws, and we fund a few disadvantages that you’ll experience if you work with them. Here’s what we were able to find.
Common Renewal Pricing Schemes
If you’ve ever used hosting before then, you’re likely aware of the common renewal pricing schemes that most web hosts use to get more business. While it can make it cheaper for you to obtain hosting now, you should be aware of how it’ll affect you in the long run.
Basically, you’ll be able to buy a hosting plan for a reduced price, but once you go to renew your hosting plan, then you’ll have to pay the regular fee, which is much higher per month than the first contract. This is great for the first contract, but it can come back to bite you later on.
You should always look at the regular price per month for each hosting plan because this is the fee that you’ll have to pay when you renew your hosting contract. You should be ‘ok’ with this renewal price so that you don’t get an unpleasant surprise once your hosting contract expires.
Having to pay for 36 months upfront
One of the things that we dislike about JustHost is the fact that they will require you to pay for your entire hosting contract before they give you the reduced pricing. This means that there’s no financing, quarterly payments, or even taking the costs a year at a time.
If you want to get the reduced pricing for your initial contract like we’ve discussed, then you’ll have to select a contract term of 36 months or longer, and then you’ll have to pay for this entire contract in a single payment if you want to get the reduced pricing.
This is a horrible set up by JustHost, and it makes it quite difficult for people with budgets to be able to get their website off the ground since they’ll find it challenging to purchase web hosting.
JustHost Hosting Plans and Pricing
When you’re looking for a hosting provider to help host your website, then you’ll want to choose a hosting provider that has a wide variety of hosting plans that you can choose from. This will allow you to upgrade your hosting plan without having to pay into a hosting plan that’s too big for your website.
If you’re going to host your website through JustHost, then you’ll have three different types of web hosting that you’ll be able to choose from. These hosting tiers are:
- Shared Hosting
- VPS Hosting
- Dedicated Hosting
We will take a look at each of these hosting tiers and the plans within each pricing tier so that you can make an educated decision and choose the best hosting plan for you and your website.
If you’re not sure which plan is right for you, then you can always contact a sales rep through the JustHost live chat, and they will be happy to help you choose the right hosting plan for your website.
JustHost Shared Hosting
If you have a smaller website that doesn’t need a lot of hosting resources and you’re on a budget, then you’ll want to use a shared hosting plan. The shared hosting plans are the most common form of hosting because many websites don’t require a lot of data and shared hosting is the cheapest form of web hosting.
Shared Hosting plans are cheap because you’ll be sharing a hosting server with other websites, which means that you’ll be able to share the costs of hosting that server as well.
When you’re using a shared server, there are no guarantees for the amount of data that your website will receive per month, which means that your site could have trouble with a lot of traffic or spikes in website traffic.
When you use JustHost, you’ll be able to choose between 3 shared hosting plans:
- Basic Plan – Starting at $3.95 per month
- Plus Plan – Only $6.95 per month
- Choice Plus – Just $14.99 per month
All of these shared hosting plans will be perfect for a smaller website that doesn’t get a ton of traffic per month, and you’ll find that these plans come with a lot of free features that could save you money.
If your website is getting under 15,000 viewers per month, then the JustHost Shared Hosting Plans will be ideal for you. Always check to see how much data you’re going through because you may need to upgrade your plan so that your website can handle spikes in traffic.
JustHost VPS Hosting
If you have an extensive website and you find that the shared hosting tier isn’t sufficient for your website, then you may want to upgrade your hosting plans to a Virtual Private Server (VPS) to help host your site more effectively.
A Virtual Private Server is similar to shared hosting because you’ll still be sharing a server with other websites, but you’ll have a minimum guaranteed amount of data that your website will be able to use every month.
This means that your website won’t be negatively affected by the other sites on your server. A VPS prevents faulty websites on your server from using up all the server resources.
JustHost Hosting has four different VPS Hosting Plans that you can purchase:
- Standard Plan – Starting at $19.99 per month
- Enhanced Plan – Only $29.99 per month
- Premium Plan – Just $44.99 per month
- Ultimate Plan – From $59.99 per month
One of the beautiful things about using a VPS hosting plan is the fact that you’ll have Root Access to your server, which will allow you to customize and configure the settings to meet your needs.
If your website is getting under 200,000 viewers per month, then you’ll be able to benefit from using the shared hosting plans from JustHost Hosting.
JustHost Dedicated Hosting
If you have a massive website, then you may want to use a dedicated hosting server to host your website. A dedicated server is a hosting server that’s dedicated to hosting a single site.
Often, a website needs a dedicated server because they need a lot of hosting data, and they want optimal hosting speeds, which you can only get when you use a dedicated hosting server.
JustHost has three different hosting plans within their dedicated hosting tier:
- Standard Plan – Starting from $79.99 per month
- Enhanced Plan – Just $99.99 per month
- Premium Plan – From $119.99 per month
Before you purchase dedicated hosting, you should always make sure that your website needs to use a dedicated server. This is because it’s expensive to buy dedicated hosting, and you don’t want to waste money on a hosting plan that you don’t need.
If your website is getting over 500,000 viewers per month, then you may want to use a dedicated hosting server so that you can give your website the best chance to grow by giving your audience an excellent viewing experience.
Do we recommend JustHost Hosting?
Yes and no. We were happy with the uptime that JustHost was able to provide. However, their loading times were slightly lacking, which means that they’ll be a good web host for a smaller website.
We found that JustHost can provide a lot of features that any customer would be able to take advantage of, and each hosting plan seems to be packed with free additional features, which is nice.
Another thing that we loved about JustHost is the fact that their customer service was quick to respond and seemed to know what they were talking about.
If we were to recommend JustHost, then we would say that they are a great hosting company for smaller websites that won’t be affected by loading speeds.
